Mendamine CMO Overall Review: 3 out of 5.
The pairing of glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate is nothing new in the joint-health industry. This is because these two ingredients are already contained within the body, and make up much of our connective tissue – in this case, especially the cartilage. Glucosamine is an amino sugar that makes up proteoglycans – as well as other substances – that help to form protective tissue. If there is not enough glucosamine being produced by the body, these proteoglycans/protein molecules may have a difficult time retaining enough water to give the tissues elasticity, flexibility, and cushioning effects. Without glucosamine, these bodily tissues will not form or function properly. Glucosamine is thought to be especially helpful when paired with chondroitin sulfate. Chondroitin is another building block of connective tissue. When sold as a supplement, it is typically made from pork or cow byproducts and is thought to help collagen with its shock-absorbing properties, as well as to block some of the enzymes that may begin the process of breaking down cartilage.
MSM is an organic sulfur that is quite frequently used in joint formulas as well. It is thought to help with inflammation of joints, helping to keep some of the pain at bay.
The other ingredients may also play a role in this formula, helping to lubricate the joints, reduce inflammation, and help the body more readily absorb the active ingredients.
Users are directed to take three pills each day, spreading out the doses for best results. If there is an extreme pain in the joints, users may take up to six tablets each day – preferably, three following breakfast and three following dinner.
