Puritan’s Pride Turmeric Curcumin Overall Review: 3 out of 5.
Turmeric (curcumin) is still extremely popular in India, commonly used as a spice in curry dishes. Many people say that one of the reasons that so many reports have suggested that older Indian citizens have such high brain functioning is because of all the turmeric they have ingested throughout their lives.
Turmeric has such a variety of uses that only a few can be listed in just a short review. It is widely accepted that it can reduce much of the pain and swelling associated with different types of arthritis. Arguably, its most important function – at least concerning pain – is its reported effectiveness at blocking some of the mediators of inflammation, such as COX-2 and LOX.
It is also commonly used to treat ailments of the stomach, headaches, liver problems, and problems with the gallbladder. Surprisingly, it also may be versatile enough to treat respiratory infections and even certain types of cancer.
Users are directed to take one capsule each day, preferably with meals to prevent upset stomach. If users have difficulties taking full capsules, it is O.K. to break the capsule open and make it into a tea.
